Executive Coaching for Top Leaders

Overall Approach:

Executives at the top level of organizations are ultimately responsible for:

  • Vision and Strategic initiatives to achieve core business success
  • Goals for revenue and profit
  • Recruitment and retention strategies
  • Succession planning

The Executive Leadership team is ultimately there to be responsible for their departments, to develop strategy, to oversee strategic execution and to provide input to the top executive. One focus of Executive Coaching for the top leader is to develop the relationship with the executive team to:

  • Receive input and innovative ideas from team members and foster discussion of policy and initiatives
  • Create effective communication of ideas and allow for constructive disagreement as a pathway to innovation
  • Create open and definitive processes for accountability and results
  • Develop delegation and reporting structure to free the top executive for daily strategic focus

The purpose of coaching at this level is to develop innovative behaviours that address current challenges and the overall growth goals of the business.  This approach facilitates personal discovery and novel problem solving, designed specifically for the executive’s needs.  A significant part of the work is to bring feedback, action planning, and follow-up into regular work life.
Leaders learn to adapt their behaviours situationally, and to leverage their unique strengths that will sustain their top position in the business.


Assessments:

Leadership Development Profile (LDP),  CPI-260 for Senior Leadership
Collaborative Interviews

Methodology:

First session (2 ½ hours) on site, following above assessments builds awareness
Second session( 2 hours) on site develops the leader’s performance plan

Thereafter telephone sessions

Additional in-person sessions can be added and included in the contract agreement.

Optimum commitment in this coaching model is six to eight months which can be 18-24 sessions. Shorter contracts of 8-12 sessions can be created for specific areas of focus.
